‘The Ultimate Survivor’ is an after-school physical activity program for students in Kindergarten-5th grade. Students are divided into tribes with a Tribal Leader (5th grade student responsible for managing the tribe) and wear head/arm bands designated for their group. There are 10 members in each tribe and each group has students from all grades. Each session features physical challenges which take several weeks for the tribes to complete. The tribes problem-solve and work cooperatively to complete the tasks as a group. Tribal Leaders assists with moving students from center to center and help keep records for events. Two points are given to the winner of a challenge and one point for all other teams. The activities selected for ‘The Ultimate Survivor’ Challenge have been taken from the Minute to Win It TV show, physical education conferences, and websites.
